The TextWorkshop process from start to finish

First, you send your text to us for preview. Our preferred format is MS Word. We only accept PDF files for the purpose of giving you a price quote. The document we are to work from must be converted to DOC, RTF or TXT format.

The simplest way to send your text is as an e-mail attachment. Please be sure to include any special instructions and to specify your absolute deadline. After previewing your text, we will promptly reply with a price quote for the project, informing you of how many hours your text will require and when you can expect delivery of the finished text. The preview and price quote are free of charge.

When we have received your approval, we begin work on your text. It is particularly helpful if we are able to contact the author of the text in order to discuss any unclear passages.

All edited or proofread texts are returned with our changes clearly marked for your review. Translation clients are also given the opportunity to review the translated text. When necessary, detailed comments will be provided explaining the editor's/translator's line of reasoning. The editor/translator may also ask the author to clarify unclear passages. The most common way to do this is with the "highlight changes" and "comments" function in MS Word. We will provide you with two copies of the finished text: one with our comments and highlighted changes, and one clean, uncommented copy.
